In the great and noble tradition of seafaring, Jason de Haan will spend the Month of September constructing a 20-foot one-man sailboat in Stride Gallery’s Project Room. Inspired by the likes of Buster Keaton, Bas Jan Ader, and Captain Morgan, his project, Where the Ocean Meets This Guy, proposes a handyman’s version of the ultimate vehicle for the landlocked romantic escapist.
Jason de Haan is an artist who lives and works in Calgary. His work takes form in sculpture, installation, drawing, and bookworks. Upcoming projects include solo exhibitions at Galerie Sans Nom (Moncton, NB), Lump (Raleigh, NC), and a residency at the Klondike Institute for art and Culture (Dawson City, YK).
