EXHIBITION INFORMATION

The Garden of Earthly Delights (c.1500; Prado, Madrid) by Hieronymus Bosch depicts a world of bizarre and beautiful depravity – where the creatures of heaven and earth collide! The work of that enigmatic manuscript illuminator-come-panel painter of rampant renaissance revelry will set the mood for a heady mix of decadence at Stride Gallery’s annual Fundraising Gala on Friday, November 26th 2004.

So, for Stride’s Garden of Earthly Delights we invite you to help us party like it’s 1499, with Bosch at his most debauched!

For this year’s Gala event we have assembled a collection of contemporary art both beautiful and bizarre, by acclaimed artists from Calgary and Beyond. One thing is sure: the delectable quality of the artworks and their intoxicating effect on Calgary’s movers and shakers will animate the fanatic bidding, in an evening of folly and sin!

All works will be on display and available for viewing and bidding from Tuesday, November 23rd to 26th from 11am to 5pm. On the evening of the 26th everyone is invited, so bring your friends, lovers and don’t forget your chequebook, and join us for celebratory cocktails and the silent art auction at the Stride’s Garden of Earthly Delights Gala event!

Bidding cards $10. All proceeds of the evening will help to support Stride’s programming and operations.
