Stride’s next studio resident is Lex Hilderman!

Lex Hilderman (they/them) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Mohkinstsis, Treaty 7 territory (Calgary, Alberta). They hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Sculpture with a minor in Social Practice and Community Engagement, and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology focused on gender, family, and workplace issues.

Lex navigates the woven intersections of identity, sentiment, and orientation through printmaking, photography, installation, and performance. Grounded in found materials and gestures of care, their ongoing exploration of clothing and adornment reveals how garments carry memory, affirm self-conceptions, and queer the pathways we walk.Their work has been exhibited with cSPACE, Arts Commons, the Animated Object Society, and Fem Assembly.
