LOCATION – STRIDE GALLERY
722, 11 AVE S.W, CALGARY, ALBERTA
EXHIBITION INFORMATION
Situated within the gallery’s Project Room, HEARING PAIRED will consist of a video installation and two audio tracks. The Project Room space is conducive to a dark and eerie basement dwelling.Upon entering the space, the viewer will come face to face with a television monitor, on which the figure of a young woman comes in and out of the picture plane. In the video, we get a sense that the woman is trying to communicate something from the indication of her physically, excited state. In the dimly lit space, the viewer is invited to place on a set of headphones while watching the silent images with the hope of attaining a meaning to her state of emergency.
