+15 WINDOW EXHIBITION
DECEMBER, 2000 – JANUARY, 2001
RECEPTION: THURSDAY, JANUARY 11, 2000 AT 8 PM
LOCATION – CALGARY CENTRE FOR PERFORMING ARTS
225, 8th Avenue S.E, CALGARY, ALBERTA
EXHIBITION INFORMATION
Kris Lindskoog has produced a sculpturally based installation within the Stride Gallery +15 Window space. Displayed will be a collection of recent sculptures of wobbly and narrow ladders, made from balsa wood, popsicle sticks and coffee stir sticks; a series of modified Ikea tables; and an array of miscellaneous objects to complete the setting. His work incorporates a level of “orderliness” with the materials used; a likeness of the everyday with an unsettling twist. The affect is coupled with seemingly uncanny boredom in the actual production of the work, complete with repetitious and tedious tasks.
ARTIST BIO
KRIS LINDSKOOG currently attends the Alberta College of Art and Design, where he will graduate in 2001 from the Painting Department. He recently had a solo show at Truck Gallery in their Parkade space.
