No Pressure Project

CLOSED

Call for Artists:

DEADLINE: June 28th, 2021. Artists will be notified of results in mid July 2021.

Stride Gallery is pleased to announce the No Pressure Project for artists. Stride will be issuing small project funds that can be used for, but are not limited to the advancement of your studio practice, studio fees, materials, or research. This call is open to self determined, early career artists currently based in the Treaty 7 area, with a strong focus on Black, Indigenous and People of Colour who are also within the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. Institutional education is not required to participate.

We are offering 6 artists $500.00 each to be used at their own discretion. In exchange, we ask each artist to share their work or process  through one Instagram post on Stride’s account. In acknowledgement of duress and scarcity during the pandemic, this initiative offers a small financial support to artists’ studio practice without putting on the pressure of productivity. We need space to think, process, research, and reflect. The Instagram post will acknowledge who received this No Pressure Project opportunities while showcasing the artists’ practices.
