EXHIBITION INFORMATION

As part of this year’s M:ST 3 Festival, the +15 windows in the Epcor Centre will be the sites of a retrospective exhibition of performance art. The history of performance art both within Canada and from the Alberta region will be presented. Curators Dave Dyment and Melody Jacobson have been invited to assemble a history of Performative practices to provide a context for the contemporary performative practices showcased in M:ST 3. The +15 window spaces have been generously donated by the following organizations: TRUCK Contemporary Art in Calgary, The New Gallery, Stride Gallery, the Marion Nicoll Gallery, and The Untitled Art Society.

 

CURATOR BIO

DAVE DYMENT is an artist, writer, and co-director of Mercer Union. Dymnet has contributed to curatorial projects nationally with recent curatorial projects having included “0.00001 per cent volume,” and “The Needle And The Damage Done,” at Harbourfront Centre.

MELODY JACOBSON is an arts administrator, writer, filmmaker, and artist-run-culture fan with a background in archives, communication studies and journalism.

MICHAEL COOLIDGE is a fourth year ACAD Student majoring in sculpture. He has exhibited work locally at Stride Gallery, TRUCK, and the Epcor Centre.
